Lee County, SC – EFP, LLC- Engineered Foam Packaging , a subsidiary of J. B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. which announced its plans to establish operations in Lee County in January 2023, will host a grand opening ceremony on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The ceremony, slated to start at 11:00am will be held at their new operations facility located at 227 Browntown Road in the Lee County Industrial Park in Bishopville, South Carolina.
Established in 1954, EFP is a leader in the design and manufacturing of custom protective packaging and cold chain solutions. The Lee County EFP operation is their first in South Carolina and will bring with it a $15 million investment while creating 50 additional high skilled positions to the county.
The Bishopville facility includes the custom upfit of a 117,000-square-foot industrial building which houses the manufacturing and distribution operations. EFP is well positioned for future growth at the site.
TheLINK Economic Development Alliance in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Lee County, South Carolina Power Team, and Black River Electric Cooperative worked closely with EFP to bring the company to South Carolina. To date, the company has hired 30 employees and operations officially began in the spring of 2024.
