TheLINK Economic Development Alliance received one of the top honors for a communications piece at the SEDC Communication Awards Ceremony. The awards ceremony was held during the 2021 Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) Annual Conference, August 16-17, 2021, in Tampa, Florida.

“These annual Communication Awards recognize and showcase the leading communication and marketing work done by economic development professionals throughout the south. TheLINK Economic Development Alliance hit the mark this year with this communication piece showing not only creativity, but also solid messaging and effectiveness at reaching their target audience” commented Gene Stinson, SEDC President.

The “Industrial Parks Portfolio”, won the Special Judges Award for Innovation Concept in Site Promotion. “The purpose of creating a pocket size industrial portfolio is to create a convenient method to display the sites and buildings that are available to prospective businesses and consultants, said Jay Schwedler, President of TheLINK. “Each site and building occupied equates to new jobs, investment and thus an increase in our tax base.”

The Communication Awards are given each year by SEDC at its annual conference. Over twenty categories of communications and marketing work submitted by SEDC members are evaluated within four divisions. Judging criteria for General Entry Awards include Graphic Appeal, Clarity of Message, Quality of Information, Positioning / Differentiation and Format.

“Our goal, as the project tagline indicates, is to Connect you to Endless Opportunities. One way of doing this is by creating innovative marketing concepts to draw attention to the countless assets that we have in this region. Winning the special judges award brings attention to our region and attention to the talent that is developed here,” stated Yanet Lopez, Multimedia Manager.
